A WOMAN was found dead in her home with a cocktails of drugs in her system, an inquest heard.
Solo Saunders, of Arden Close, Colchester, was discovered by her husband in their hallway on July 23, 2018.
Paramedics rushed to the house but the 44-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
Chelmsford Coroner's Court heard at Solo's inquest on Tuesday she had been found unresponsive.
A post mortem examination was carried out in Colchester Hospital which found she had died of A1 asphyxiation due to hanging.
The coroner's court heard Solo had drunk alcohol and had also used cocaine which might have impaired her judgement.
Results of a toxicology report revealed there was a substantial amount of alcohol in her blood as well as cocaine and sleeping tablets.
Inspector Stuart Colbear, of Essex Police, was called to the scene shortly before 7am.
He said: "There were two police officers who arrived at the scene and I had to be called because of the circumstances.
"Paramedics were there but the death had already been confirmed.
"I had a look around to make sure there was nothing untoward.
"It was a cause of making sure there was no third party involvement."
He confirmed there was nothing suspicious and that noone else was involved in Solo's death.
The coroner's court heard Solo was born in Namibia, in southwest Africa.
She lived in Colchester with her husband who attended the inquest with a friend.
Coroner Caroline Beasley Murray said to Solo's husband: "I would like to express sympathy to you in these very sad circumstances."
Mrs Beasley Murray recorded the verdict as an open conclusion as she stated there was not enough evidence for another conclusion.
She added: "She clearly was much loved by you and you seemed to be very loyal to her.
"I express sympathy to you for your loss."
