Colchester Council's Conservative group leader Darius Laws says the Atik night club would make a great location for a concert hall... if it ever became available.
He revealed the former Odeon cinema in Crouch Street has been too badly damaged and altered inside to ever be turned into a music venue.
Darius was talking to Gazette editor Dom Bowers and Essex University student Jacob Ottaway in the latest Colchester Chat podcast.
Other subjects they discussed included:
- why Colchester needs a proper cycling strategy
- his passion for shining a light on the town's heritage
- his experience of watching a drug deal take place in St Botolph's Priory
- why he opposes his county council colleagues' plans to close libraries
- and that he was not the Human Shrub!
