THESE images from almost 30 years ago give a snapshot of life in a Garrison town.
The photographs from our archives show incidents which happened that year and important occasions for the regiments.
These included the flag raising and two minutes silence for Remembrance Sunday in 1990, a parade marking the return of soldiers serving overseas and the recovered items of the bomb squad.
There are also memories of when a tank had a collision with a safety barrier on the A12.
At that time the Army was still based in its old garrison which included Meannee and Hyderabad Barracks.
These and others were named after places soldiers are posted overseas.
