A busy road in Colchester was closed due to a police incident.
The A134 between the North Station and the Essex Hall roundabout was shut by Essex Police from around 11.45am on Wednesday.
Drivers were advised to avoid the area if possible and faced long delays in both directions near the station.
There were delays southbound on Turner Road and eastbound on Colne Bank Avenue and Cowdray Avenue towards Ipswich Road.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We were called to concerns for the welfare of a man in North Station Road at around 11.45am today. We closed the road while the incident was ongoing.
"We have now detained a man under the Mental Health Act and the roads have re-opened."
First Essex announced its revisions to its services whilst the road closure was in place.
Essex Police reopened the A134 at around 2pm this afternoon.

Buses are unable to get into Colchester at the moment, due to an incident at the railway station. Customers are advised currently to head to the train station (Sudbury Side).
