A MAN who sat on the roof of a car park is now safely down.
Emergency services surrounded a town centre car park after a man sat precariously on the roof on one of the parapets.
Police, fire and ambulance crews are at Middleborough car park, Colchester, went to the incident.
The car park was closed to members of the public.
People who had cars parked there were asked to speak to police on the scene.
A spokeswoman for the East of England Ambulance Service said:
"We were called at 3.23pm with concern for the welfare of a person in Middleborough, Colchester.
"We sent the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) and one ambulance."
An Essex Police spokesman said: "We were contacted shortly after 3pm with concerns for the welfare of a man at the Middleborough car park in Middleborough, Colchester."
The incident was resolved by about 6pm when the man came down and was cared for by paramedics and the police.
