THE family of a man who went missing seven years ago have appealed for him to make contact and come to his sister’s wedding.
Anthony Stammers went missing from his home in Mile End Road, Colchester, on May 27, 2012.
His family and friends, including parents Julie and Rob, have searched relentlessly for him but without luck.
His sister Cathy, 40, is due to get married in Canada later this year.
Julie and Rob said they had had no updates on Anthony’s whereabouts since he disappeared.
Julie, who is a community ambassador for the charity Missing People, said: “We are always investigating. If we go out for the day we take posters or small pictures and we hand them out to people.
“We hope he will hear this and hear about the wedding and make contact. We love him very much and miss him. He is welcome to come home or contact us any time. We are waiting with open arms.”
Julie said the family wanted to be able to share the wedding and their lives with Anthony.
“There is nothing Cathy would love more than to have both her brothers by her side on that occasion,” she said.
“To have Anthony back would make everybody’s lives complete. His friends miss him terribly too.
“The longer people stay away the harder it must be to come back. Some days it feels like just yesterday and other days it feels like forever.
“We just want him back and to share everything with him. We want to know he is safe.”
Concerns were first raised when Anthony did not attend his grandfather’s funeral on May 28, 2012.
Anthony, who had previously been treated for depression, was last seen on May 27 when he told his mum he was going to meet friends in London.
However, Anthony did not meet his friends or attend the funeral at Colchester Crematorium.
Anthony is 5ft 10ins, of medium build and had short dark hair when he disappeared. Anyone with information can call Essex Police on 101 or Missing People on 116 000.
