A COLCHESTER entrepreneur has launched her own vegan-friendly tattoo aftercare range.
The special balms have been produced by Four Tattoo Care - part of the independent tattoo business based on Eld Lane, Colchester.
It is run by Alice Nicholls, an award-winning tattoo artist with over a decade of experience in both aesthetic and clinical artistry.
She is also an educator and a dedicated skin specialist.
Four Tattoo Care are premium, vegan friendly and natural skincare products that understand your skin type varies across your body.
They are enriched with naturally-occurring anti-inflammatories, moisturising properties and anti-fade technology to help keep your artwork bright.
The market for tattoo care products is still in its youth, with branding looking either gothic or slightly psychedelic.
With women getting more tattoos than men now, Four Tattoo Care has focussed on being more at home in the beauty arena.
Miss Nicholls said: "Tattooed skin can be affected by the elements, diet, age and lifestyle among many things.
"Tailored aftercare addresses these issues and ensure tattoos remain looking beautiful.
“With tattoo artwork developing to such a high standard, it's only natural that the aftercare should be premium too."
The branding and packaging project started during lockdown with Dutch Quarter-based design agency Puur, who, like a lot of businesses, had to move their entire business to remote working.
Michael Rance, owner of Puur, said "When Alice came to us, the whole idea of these vegan-friendly, feminine focused tattoo care products really did sound interesting.
"We wanted our solution to brake the mould when it came to portraying a her products, looking just as at home in a salon or spa as they do in the studio.
"Over the last months, we've really seen how important it is to be available for the people we work with.
"This helps us really get to know new clients and the nuances of their products, allowing us to do the best work possible.
"This was no different as pretty much the whole project with Alice was done over Zoom.
"It's been an exciting process with an end result that we're all really pleased with.
"Alice has been brilliant, allowing us to translate her ideas into product branding and packaging that fits with her overall identity."
The new products, packaging and brand identity were launched last week and are now on sale both in the studio and online at four-tattoo.care
All four of the current product rage come in 30ml jars and are all vegan friendly and 100% natural.
