A MAN who police say travelled to Colchester to set up a new county drugs line has been handed a Covid-19 fine and banned from returning to Essex.
The Essex Police team in Colchester said they had stopped the man from London after he was spotted on a e-scooter in the town.
The scooter was seized, he was handed six penalty points, fined £300 and handed a Community Protection Warning which prevents him from visiting Essex. He was also given a £200 Covid-19 fine for a non-essential trip.
In a Tweet, the force said: “[The] e-scooter belonged to a male from London trying to set up a new county line in Colchester. His 1st and last visit to our lovely town.”
