An inquest has been opened and adjourned into the death of a motorcyclist who died in a crash on the A120.
Adam Campbell died following a collision on the A120 on Christmas Eve.
The 32-year-old died at the scene in Bracks Lane, near Coggeshall, after a collision with a van.
A section of the road was closed for several hours whilst police dealt with the incident.
The driver of the van, a 31-year-old man from Ipswich, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and dangerous driving.
He has since been released under investigation.
At the inquest yesterday, the coroner confirmed that a post-mortem examination revealed the cause of death to be a severe head injury.
The coroner is still waiting for toxicology reports.
Following the incident a police spokesman said: “We’d like to thank members of the public who stopped to assist the motorcyclist before emergency services arrived.”
The full inquest into Mr Campbell’s death has been given a provisional date of June 3.
