A NEW part of Colchester now has the highest coronavirus infection rate in the borough.
The parts of Colchester with the highest coronavirus infection rates have been revealed on a map.
The map shows Prettygate and Westlands now has the highest infection rate adjusted for population in the borough.
It's infection rate is now 793 cases per 100,000 people, with 58 confirmed cases in a week.
Monkwick has the second highest infection rate by population in the borough, of 764.4 cases per 100,000 people.
It had 79 cases in the week to January 15.
The map is put together using figures from the seven days to January 15.

Colchester's average infection rate has continued to fall and now sits at 573.2 cases per 100,000 people.

There were 1,116 cases in the week to January 16.
The infection rate has dropped from 821.8 cases per 100,000 people a week earlier, when there were 1,600 cases in a week.
Tendring's infection rate has also continued to fall and is now 842. cases per 100,000 people.

However, it does now officially have the highest infection rate in Essex by population.
The infection rate in Braintree is 552.4 cases per 100,000 people and 491.3 cases per 100,000 people in Maldon.
Data for the most recent four days (January 17-20) has been excluded as it is incomplete and does not reflect the true number of cases.
Of the 315 local areas in England, 17, of five per cent, have seen a rise in case rates, 296, or 94 per cent, have seen a fall and two are unchanged.
