A DOG owner has issued an urgent warning to residents after his dog ingested rat poison which was found scattered at a popular recreation ground in Colchester.
The resident posted the warning on Facebook after visiting Mile End Recreation Ground, off Ford Lane, today.
He said: "My dog is currently having her stomach pumped due to eating some rat poison left on Mile End Recreation Ground next to the football pitches.
"It was mixed in with some dog biscuits.
"The poison was in the form of pink pellets.
"I've removed all the poison I found but there may be some more elsewhere."

Rat poison can cause internal bleeding for dogs and can be deadly.

If you think your dog may have ingested rat poison they should immediately be taken to see a veterinarian.
