YOUNGSTERS showed creative flair and talent in a school art therapy competition.
There were more than 60 entries in the contest, organised by Two Village Primary School, in Mayes Lane, Ramsey.
It was timed to coincide with Children's Mental Health Week.
Headteacher Natasha Bennett said: "Children's mental health is important all the time but especially now in the midst of this prolonged lockdown.
"Children are dealing with learning from home, missing friends and teachers, worrying about when the lockdown will finish and whether everyone will keep safe.
"This competition has given them the chance to express themselves through art, at a time when they may not be able to find the right words to say how they are feeling or may not even know exactly how they are feeling.
"The children’s special work has been celebrated and shared through a virtual art gallery and the top three winners all won exciting art-related prizes to help them continue expressing themselves in this fantastic way."
The first prize, a selection of art products, went to Freddie Manning.
The seven-year-old painted a peacock - one of his favourite animals to look at.
He said the colours and expressive swirls make him happy and reflects the impressionist movement he has learnt about in school.
Second prize, a canvas and selection of acrylic paints, went to Maisy Williams, eight, for her vibrant elephant picture with streams of rainbow-inspired paint, symbolic of thankfulness to the NHS.
Third prize, a birdbox to be painted, went to Jade Lord.
The six-year-old produced a beautiful sunset picture.
