A POPULAR pizza restaurant is expanding again.
Award-winning chef Paul Boorman is expanding White Label Detroit Pizza to his hometown of Colchester.
White Label Detroit Pizza, which Paul runs with business partner Aiden Fraser, deliver pizzas which are uncooked and oven ready for customers to cook themselves.
Aiden said: “The main complaints we found from people ordering from big companies were that the pizzas were late and cold.
“The pizzas come in our signature tins, to be cooked at home by customers when they want.
“Some of our regulars like to allow the pizza to mature for a day before cooking so that the flavours properly sink in.”
The pair opened up their first site in Hatfield Peverel in July closely followed by another in with another Aiden’s hometown of Maldon.
To date they have delivered more than 4,000 pizzas.
Paul, whose awards include Essex Chef of the Year, has run kitchens at some of the best restaurants in the area such as Wivenhoe House and Clarice House.
He added: “I have put all my chef skills in to making it as tasty as I can. I promise you that you haven’t tasted anything like a Detroit Pizza.
“Thick fluffy focaccia base made by Blackberry Bakery, half a pound of cheesy deliciousness and loads of toppings topped with a balanced drizzle of sauce that doesn’t overpower the pizza.
“It’s as good as a restaurant pizza, or maybe even better.”
Pizzas are available to order through ColchesterEats and whitelabeldetroitpizza.co.uk.
