A patient was taken to hospital after an incident which saw the air ambulance land in Colchester.
The East of England Ambulance Service was called to Speedwell Road at about 8.40am this morning.
An ambulance, two rapid response cars and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.
The air ambulance landed in a field off Old Heath Road, near where it meets Speedwell Road.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "I can confirm the ambulance service responded to an emergency call shortly before 8.40am regarding an incident on Speedwell Road, Colchester.
"An ambulance, two rapid response cars and an air ambulance attended the incident.
"One patient was transported, by ground escort, to Colchester Hospital."
The exact nature of the incident is not yet known.
Essex Police have been contacted for comment.
