LITTLE ones have been paying their respects to our NHS "superheroes".
Children from Busy Bees Day Nursery, in Stanway, dressed up as doctors and nurses as a way of saying thank you to those that have worked so hard during the pandemic.
It was part of a week-long celebration and kind-hearted staff and parents also contributed to a hamper which has been sent to staff at Colchester Hospital's intensive care unit and Covid wards.
Gina Curry, Busy Bees' senior centre director, said: "We've been celebrating superhero week and decided the best superheroes of all are our NHS workers.
"We wanted to show our appreciation and say thank you to the doctors, nurses, cleaners, receptionists, porters and everyone who works so hard every day to look after us.
"The children have been taking part in different activities, including finding out what their own superpower is, making rainbows and discovering the types of equipment doctors and nurses use.
"We also had dressing up days and our wonderful staff and parents made donations so we could make a hamper for staff at Colchester Hospital.
"We wanted to thank them and give them some goodies to treat them and let them pamper themselves."
