A COLCHESTER musician is on a mission to bring the community together to raise funds for the town's NHS and mental health services.
Jay Ebby East's new single called My Sweet Love was released on Friday, and all of its streaming royalties will be donated straight to Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals Charity.
After years of addiction, depression and personal battles, Jay is more than familiar with the everyday struggles which many people face.
Fortunately, he has managed to turn his life around completing the twelve-step recovery programme.
He has also fulfilled his objective of receiving national radio airtime, international media coverage and signing a record deal.
But Jay is aware that not everybody has the same fate.
Therefore, he wants nothing more than the community to get behind him in his quest to support local society.
Jay is known for his loyalty to helping his local region; he is regularly out on foot buying food for the homeless and being there for those who are suffering.
A spokesman for the musician said: "He puts his heart and soul into everything he does, including his music which he uses as a platform to give back.
"My Sweet Love is his most compelling expression yet, and it hits home with meaning.
"It is out on all the major streaming platforms, and unlike asking for money contributions, Jay is generously donating all of his streaming royalties to the community.
"Also, a share or mention will go a long way in helping those who rely on Colchester's goodwill."
