A SHOCKED family watched on as a police dog sniffed out a suspect who had hidden himself in the back garden of their home.
Jordan Dezso, 30, described the moment PD Vin discovered the wanted man, who had concealed himself in a bush.
Officers had arrived in Copford after residents reported some suspicious activity, on the lookout for a stolen car.
Jordan said: “My mum and sister heard a bark and saw lights in the back garden, which backs on to a field.
“They went to the back door and saw a man come out of the bush.
“He was arrested, then they took him out the side entrance, came back and did some looking around.
“The police officer was really nice and made us feel at ease.”
She added: “We had heard there had been a car dumped and a man had fled but didn’t expect him to be in the back garden.
“We just heard a bark, I think the dog sniffed him out.
“The police did brilliantly.”

The suspect was found in a garden in Allendale Drive, Copford, at around 8pm on Monday.
A spokesman for Colchester’s Community Policing Team said: “Officers were called to Copford as eagle eyed residents witnessed some strange behaviour.”
He said a stolen car was found in the road, before police dog Vin made another find.
“PD Vin loves a game of hide and seek, equally as much as the officers who were with him enjoy arresting those who have caused loss or harm to our community,” he said.
“So it was a happy ending for the dog and officers as they took one out of a bush and into custody, while also re-uniting a happy owner with their vehicle.”
An Essex Police spokesman said: “A man will appear at court in April following an arrest in Copford.
“Drew Henneby, 28, of London Road, Ipswich, will appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on April 23.
“He has been charged with taking a motor vehicle without consent, driving without insurance and driving without a licence.”
