A village pub has revealed it will remain closed in April even if Government rules allow pubs to re-open.
The Anchor, in Rowhedge, said it had considered all possibilities but had "reluctantly" made the decision.
As part of the Government's roadmap out of lockdown it hopes to be able to ease some restrictions on the hospitality sector in April.
If the data allows from April 12 venues will be allowed to serve people outdoors and there will be no need for customers to order a substantial meal with alcoholic drinks and no curfew.
However customers must order, eat and drink while seated.
Wider social contact rules will apply in all these settings to prevent indoor mixing between different households.
But The Anchor said the unpredictability of the British weather had forced their hand.
In a post on Facebook they said: "Having spent time considering all possibilities of opening in April we regret to inform you that reluctantly, we will remain closed.
"This has not been an easy decision but with the great British weather being unpredictable, it is a major factor to take into consideration and we feel that the "outside only dining and drinking policy" is too much of a risk.
"If however it looks like it being a warm and sunny April on the cards then of course we will aim to open up sooner.
"Thank you for your understanding and patience during these unprecedented times.
"We look forward to seeing all of you soon."
