TODAY’S nostalgia spread is another celebration of characters and personalities from Colchester’s history.

We’ve delved into our photo archive and found more striking pictures from yesteryear.

One of our favourites is the picture of blue coat school celebrations marking the coronation of King George V, in June 1911.

Another shows a street party in Goring Road in May 1945, towards the end of the Second World War.
