PLANS to turn a restaurant in Colchester town centre into flats have been revealed.
Witnesham Ventures Limited has applied for planning permission to convert a unit in Sir Isaac's Walk into two flats.
The unit is home to Albatta restaurant and is part of a grade-II listed property.
The listed building is split into three commercial units, with the new flats planned for the one occupied by Albatta.

A planning report states: "The loss of restaurant space can be justified given the high level of vacancy in the immediate locality and the restoration of a listed building.
"The design of the building is largely unaltered and no original features will be lost internally. In this respect there is no detrimental impact on any heritage assets.
"The site has good public transport accessibility and therefore a car-free scheme is acceptable.
"The proposed development will not have any impact on the amenity of neighbours.
"The proposed flats will provide a good standard of accommodation."
There will be one two-bed and one one-bed flats created.
Albatta is a Lebanese takeaway and restaurant and has been open for many years.
It is one of the town's top rated eateries on Trip Advisor.
Colchester Council will have the final say on the plans.
