WHERE was your favourite pub or club for a night out in years gone by?
That was the question we posed to members of our We grew up in Colchester and Tendring Facebook group.
It prompted a fun response with people reminiscing about youthful nights out on the town.
Steve Nippress said: "A good night out usually started in the Sun Inn, in Lexden.
"There was a good atmosphere in there on a Saturday night and we stayed until 9.30pm.
"Then it was a case of bundling into taxis to get into a town nightclub by 10pm."
Nessa Shults commented and said: "I passed the Sun earlier, having lived in Lexden.
"I was christened next door but haven’t lived there for 40-plus years.
"However, it always feels like home when I pass by."

Nessa said her own favourite place for a night out was where she met her husband - the Tartan House nightclub, in Frating.
Jill Lewis enjoyed nights at The Aqua Vista Club, in St Osyth.
She said: "It was my regular Saturday night venue during the 1970s. Great memories."
Ben Wagenaar recalled nights out in Colchester.
"We started with beers in The Playhouse, followed by a walk up Head Street into the High Street and onto the Hippodrome.
"That was where we stayed until the small hours. Perfect."
Si Hunt and Ruth Allen also hailed the Hippodrome while Tony Shaw's response was: "The cricket festival at Vista Road, in Clacton, and Castle Park."
Michael Judson mentioned Club de Dance while Michael Jones said: "My favourites were the Copford Windmill nightclub for dancing and The Coopers Arms, at Aldham, for drinking."
