A MAN who sent indecent images of children under the age of ten to an undercover police officer also told her he liked them “the younger the better”.
Using an alias, Jake Lancaster, 26, engaged in conversation with the officer over an online messaging service in 2019.
Ipswich Crown Court heard the officer identified herself as a woman, while Lancaster confirmed he was 24-years-old and living in Essex.
Lancaster told the officer “he liked all ages, but the younger the better” and said he “really wanted someone to let him f*** their daughter.”
Two moving indecent images, one at category B and another at category C, were sent to the officer in July 2019.
Two days later, the officer asked Lancaster if he was into babies, and the offender replied “maybe, why?”
Lancaster, of Glenway Close, Great Horkesley, was arrested and later admitted two counts of distributing indecent images of children.
Lynne Shirley, mitigating, said the offences had occurred two years ago and there had been “no repetition and no further concerns” about his behaviour since then.
She said: “Admissions were made when police arrived at his door and further in interview.
“He has done all he possibly can to co-operate with this process.”
She added: “At the time he was really not in a good place and that is understating it.”
Lancaster was sentenced to eight months imprisonment, suspended for 18 months, and ordered to complete a 60-day rehabilitation activity requirement.
He will also remain the subject of a sexual harm prevention order for ten years.
Recorder Guy Ayers said: “I hope you realise that in cases of this sort each video or picture of a child being distributed means there is a victim out there somewhere.”
