Colchester Zoo has updated customers on what will happen to any gift vouchers which have expired during lockdown.
The zoo was forced to close its doors for a third time at the end of last year.
A spokesman said some people who had purchased gift vouchers from November onwards had found they had expired while the zoo was closed.
They will be given a three month extension to redeem the vouchers when the zoo reopens.
The spokesman said: "We are aware that many of you have vouchers purchased from November onwards as Christmas gifts which have since expired during Colchester Zoo’s temporary closure.
"Please be aware that you will have a 3-month extension to redeem these vouchers when Colchester Zoo reopens.
"If you have any queries, please contact us via email or our contact form here> https://www.colchester-zoo.com/contact-us/"
When will the zoo reopen?
If all goes to plan the zoo hopes to reopen on April 12.
As this is not guaranteed they are not opening ticket sales yet.
The zoo website says: "It is thought that on reopening the zoo will have the same restrictions as before closure, if not more.
"Until we have clarification from the Government, we will not know for certain what the restrictions for reopening will be.

"Colchester Zoo would like to reassure the community that the zoo will be a managed, safe and controlled-environment to visit after lockdown.
"The restricted capacity and pre-booking arrival slots will continue to help manage the number of people in the park each day.
"Therefore, the zoo will be an ideal attraction to come to and enjoy a safe day out to reunite with family and friends in a socially distanced environment with safety measures in place."
