THIS year is an all out election for Essex County Council.
There are nine seats being contested in Colchester.
All but two incumbent councillors are standing again this time around.
Lib Dem Anne Turrell, who represented Mile End and Highwoods, and Conservative Anne Brown who represented Constable are not standing for re-election.
There are four Reform UK candidates standing in Constable, Maypole, Mile End and Highwoods and Wivenhoe St Andrews wards.
There is also one Freedom Alliance. No Lockdowns. No Curfews candidate in the Abbey division.
In total there are 75 seats up for grabs on the council when people go to the polls in May.
As it stands the council is Conservative lead with 52 councillors.
The Lib Dems then have eight, Labour six, there are seven non-aligned councillors, one indepedent and one vacancy.
