A POPULAR restaurant in Colchester has unveiled plans for the town's first ever rooftop garden dining experience.
Pavilion Restaurant, in Middleborough, will open the garden dining area in May.
It will feature tropical plants, trees, bamboo planters and a secret garden area.
It comes after owners Elysium Group was given licencing permission by Colchester Council.
The roof garden, which will be 3000sqft is the first of its kind in the town.

A spokesman for the Elysium Group said: "The roof garden is expected to open in May this year, in time for the summer season.
"This new addition will offer an incredible rooftop dining experience where guests can enjoy Pavilion’s pan pacific inspired menu complimented by their extensive selection of fine wines and cocktail, all in a beautifully decorated, lush roof garden dressed with tropical plants, feature trees, bamboo planters and a “secret garden”."
The alfresco dining experience has seen Pavilion partner with Piper Heidsieck Champagne.
Pavilion offers a Pan-Pacific inspired menu and a wide selection of drinks.
