A PUPIL had to be taken to hospital after he was in collision with a car.
Police and ambulance crews were called to Parsonage Street in Halstead at about 3.20pm on Monday.
Children had just spent their first day back at school when reports of an accident involving a car and the 12-year-old boy near the Richard De Clare school were reported.
Paramedics arrived and treated the youngster at the scene before taking him to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford for further care.
An East of England Ambulance Service Trust spokesman said: “We sent an ambulance and rapid response vehicle to Parsonage Street on Monday after receiving reports of a collision.
“Crews treated a boy at the scene before transporting him to Broomfield Hospital for further assessment and care.”
Essex Police have said it was suspected the boy may have broken his arm and are appealing for information about the incident.
A police spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a collision involving a car and a 12-year-old boy in Parsonage Street, Halstead at around 3.25pm on April 12.
“The child sustained a possible fracture to his arm.
