POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a school crossing patrol officer was hit by a car.
The crossing patrol officer, aged in her 20s, was on a zebra crossing at Brinkley Lane, Highwoods, when she was struck by a small black car.
She was hit between 3pm and 3.15pm on Wednesday, was knocked to the ground and suffered bruising.
The male driver stopped the car initially, before driving off towards Severalls Lane.
The woman was wearing high-viz clothing at the time.
