EVERYONE loves a trip down memory lane.
Whether it’s school class photos, pictures with friends in a sports team or powerful images of a certain occasion, nostalgia is a very special emotion.
Does the word conjure up memories of a certain event - a gathering of people sharing a moment in time?
Perhaps you have special memories of working with friends and colleagues in a particular building, office or factory.
Have you worked at the same place for a long time?
Or maybe you’re retired now but were a long-time employee of a certain business.
We’re on the lookout for your old nostalgia pictures and would love to share them with our readers.
We’re keen to include more nostalgia in our papers and online but need your help.
Send your photos and details to matt.plummer@newsquest.co.uk or make contact by heading HERE.
To get the ball rolling, we’ve got a picture to share from the historic Paxman Diesels factory, off Hythe Hill.
The company manufactured steam engines, boilers, agricultural machinery and mill gearing.
Ship engines were exported all over the world.
Paxman was founded by James Noah Paxman, Henry and Charles Davey as Davey, Paxman and Davey Engineers in 1865.
At its peak, their premises covered 23 acres and employed more than 2,000 people.
This high-definition photo is part of an online catalogue published by Colchester and Ipswich Museums. It is free to use and no registration is required.
