AN set of ex-army flats in Colchester is being transformed into 80 apartments across four new blocks.
Developer Harding Homes' The Edge at Abbey Park scheme is now up and running, with the first two phases sold out since launching in February.
The third phase will be ready in June or July, and are coming to the market soon.
Charlotte Coleman, director of Fine & Country Colchester, said: "There is high demand for property within the development which is due to be complete in either June or July this year.
"Apart from the aesthetic design, beautiful interiors and excellent location, another drawcard to the development is the developers incentive for NHS staff and the armed forces, as well as the fact the new-build apartments have help to buy on them, making it easier for buyers to get their foot on the property ladder."
The Edge is located on Berechurch Road with the surrounding grounds and gardens being landscaped for the new residents.
The grounds feature a mix of amenities such as table tennis tables, a fitness trail and gym, a children's play area and bird and bat boxes.
Ms Coleman added: "Other improvements to the development include upgraded parking courts and plenty of new cycle storage.
"Landscaping improvements will also create a new pathway alongside Berechurch Road, vastly improving the appreciation of this location.”
Ward councillor Dave Harris (Lab, Berechuch) said the previous development on the site was not fit for purpose.
He said: "This regeneration project of what was a run down and very poor condition set of flats is, I believe, great.
"I was blown away by the good quality of the accommodation."
Mr Harris is a candidate for both the Colchester Council and Essex County Council elections in May The other candidates for Colchester Council are John Clifton (Green), Chris Piggot (Con) and Mick Spindler (Lib Dem).
The other candidates for Essex County Council are Tony Emment (Lib Dem), Joe Johnson (Reform), Chris Piggot (Con) and Blake Roberts (Green).
