ALMOST a quarter of people aged 45 and above in Colchester have received two doses of a coronavirus vaccine, figures reveal.
NHS data shows 34,607 people had received both jabs by April 25, based on the latest population estimates from the Office for National Statistics.
Of those to have received both jabs, 27,924 were aged 45 and over – 35 per cent of the age group.
It means 6,683 people aged between 16 and 44 have received both doses.
The figures also show 94,412 people in Colchester have received at least one jab – 60 per cent of those aged 16 and over.
Colchester areas with the highest coverage:
1) West Mersea, with 76 per cent of people aged 16 and over given their first dose
2) West Bergholt and Wormingford, 74.7 per cent
3) Prettygate and Westlands, 74.6 per cent

It comes as the Government announced an extra 60 million doses of the Pfizer coronavirus jab have been secured for a booster vaccination programme in the autumn.
