CONTROVERSIAL plans for 32 new homes to be built off a busy road in Colchester have been approved.
Harding Homes proposals for land off Berechurch Hall Road have been rubber stamped by Colchester Council's planning department.
The site has been allocated for homes in Colchester Council's Local Plan.
Three parcels of land in the area set for development, with Persimmon Homes also hoping to build 153 new homes nearby.

A total of 25 objections were submitted to the 32 homes proposals online, with some residents raising concerns about the roads in the area.
Berechurch Hall Road is a notorious accident blackspot.
Latest data from the Safer Essex Roads Partnership shows there were ten smashes in the street in 2019, up from just two the previous year.
Four of those crashes were deemed serious with cyclists, pedestrians and children all being hurt on the road.
In one incident, reported by the Gazette, a car flipped over.
