A MAN and a woman accused of robbing two victims of cash at knifepoint have been cleared of all charges after a trial.
Glen Luckhurst, 38, and Samantha Jefford, 36, both denied two counts of robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.
Two complainants alleged they had been approached and threatened at knifepoint by the two defendants in February last year.
The pair denied any involvement and a trial was held at Ipswich Crown Court.
Edward Renvoize, prosecuting, said the duo approached Kelly Lucas and Connor Stoneman in Buckingham Drive, Greenstead.
He said Mr Luckhurst grabbed Miss Lucas by the collar of her coat and put a blade to her throat.
“Meanwhile Samantha Jefford had her knife towards Mr Stoneman so the tip of the knife was in contact with his stomach,” he said.
“He was able to give some detail about what was said to him, he recalls Mr Luckhurst saying ‘Give us everything you’ve got’.”
Mr Renvoize said Mr Stoneman handed over more than £200 from his wallet.
The court heard evidence from Mr Stoneham, a serving prisoner at HMP Norwich, during the trial.
Mr Luckhurst, of Greenstead Road, Colchester, and Ms Jefford, of Affleck Road, Colchester, were cleared of all charges by a jury.
