AN expanding food business is launching a new pop-up pizza shop at a busy pub in Colchester.
White Label Detroit Pizza, created by award-winning chef Paul Boorman and business partner Aiden Fraser, normally delivers pizzas which are uncooked and oven ready for customers to cook themselves.
However, due to popular demand, the pair are branching out further and launching their first pop-up pizza restaurant - at a popular pub in Colchester.
From this weekend they'll be taking up residence at The Prettygate, in The Commons, for the foreseeable future.
The business posted on Facebook: "When our customers (we like to call them amazing) talk to us we listen, and due to mounting pressure from you lot and a continuing return to normality we are opening a Pizza Pop-Up at The Prettygate Pub - Colchester so you can all enjoy amazing Detroit Style Pizzas for yourselves.
"For those of you who love pizza you are in for a real treat, they really are something else.
"They are big enough to share and small enough to not have to.
"Packed with topping, loads of cheesiness and a light focaccia dough that has to be tasted to be believed.
"This is the new #detroitstylepizza that those in the know are talking about, don't waste your time with all those same old round pizzas, it's cool to be square (and trust me, the gluten free dough is off the chart).
"DM us to book a table, there aren't many available."
Detroit-style pizza is a rectangular pizza with a thick crust which is crispy and chewy.
White Label Detroit Pizza's food normally comes in their own signature tins, to be cooked at home by customers when they want.

This avoids the age-old problem of pizza getting cold whilst on its way to customers with the delivery driver.
At The Prettygate, customers orders will of course be cooked fresh for delivery to their table.

Pizzas are available to order through ColchesterEats and at whitelabeldetroitpizza.co.uk.
