Essex Police Colchester said: "I think that we can all agree parking near most schools during drop off and pick up times can be a nightmare.
"If everyone could just have a little think before they park and try to be more considerate, it might just make life a little bit easier and most importantly, safer for everyone.
"We shouldn't really have to do this but here are some basic Do's and Don'ts for everyone:
- DO Remember that you are not more important than anyone else.
- DON'T park on pavements.
- DO Read the highway code again. (things may have changed since you last read it)
- DON'T Park across people’s driveways or entryways.
- DO Set an good example for your children.
- DON'T park on the Zig Zags or double yellow lines.
- DO remember to be polite and considerate to other drivers.
- DON'T Double park
- DO the rules apply to you ? Yes they do.
"We will continue to visit schools along with Parking enforcement and tickets will be issued."
