A NEW taproom at one of Colchester's most popular bars is now officially open.
Other Monkey Brewing, the brewery arm of Three Wie Monkeys, in High Street, has welcomed its first customers in to its taproom.
The bar has been working to turn the old Jack's hardware store, next to Three Wise Monkeys, into a microbrewery since 2018.
Renovation of the premises proved more complicated than first thought, particularly when the remains of a Roman bathhouse were found underneath the building.
The opening of the taproom is the first signs the project is nearing completion, although the final stages won't be finished until this summer.
Other Monkey Brewing posted on Instagram: "Doors are now open to our Tap Room in our microbrewery situated next to our sister site, Three Wise Monkeys Colchester.
"We are bringing the best of East Anglian craft to our rolling weekly menu of beers, showcasing the best in ales, lagers and beers.
"Tap Room tables are available each week Thursday 5pm - 11pm and Friday - Sunday 12pm - 11pm.
"Booking is advised othermonkeybrewing.com/book.
"We’ll keep you closely updated on full brewery opening, coming late summer 2021."
