A DRIVER is fighting for his life after a serious crash in Colchester.
The crash happened last night at 8pm at the junction of Mersea Road and Berechurch Road.
Multiple reports were made to the police of the crash, and the Essex Roads Policing Unit warned it would be shut for a considerable amount of time.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We received a number of calls to a serious collision at the junction of Berechurch Road and Mersea Road, in Colchester, shortly after 8pm last night, Saturday June 5.
"The driver of a van had taken ill behind the wheel before colliding with another vehicle.
"A man aged in his 40s who was in the van was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.
"There were no injuries reported in the second vehicle.
"We are progressing our investigation into the incident and we would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has footage of it to call us on 101 citing incident 1223 of yesterday, June 5."
The man remains in a life-threatening condition in hospital.
