COLCHESTER'S household waste drop-off service will restart next month, it has been announced.
The service was paused last year due to the coronavirus pandemic to enable crews to focus on picking up residents' additional recycling and rubbish.
However, it will return from July 3, visiting 50 locations across the borough, through to September 25.
The drop-off service allows residents to take small, broken or unwanted household items which are not recyclable or not collected as part of their kerbside collections.
Garden waste can also be dropped off at the sessions to be composted.
Some items are not accepted included those normally picked up in kerside collections, large loads, fridges, freezers or other electrical goods, hazardous waste such as asbestos, batteries, liquids or gas bottles or business waste.

Simon Crow, councillors responsible for environment and sustainability, said: "I am pleased we can restart the Saturday drop-off service this year, and I’m grateful to everyone who makes the right choice to dispose of their rubbish legally.
“I would urge all residents to recycle or donate items where they can.
"For those items not collected at the kerbside, you can bring them to one of the 50 different locations across the borough that we will be visiting over the next five months; helping you dispose of these items locally and responsibly."
