A leading health boss in north Essex has hit out at so called 'anti-vaxxers' who intimidated people queuing for their vaccine.
Last week the North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Group started rolling out walk-in vaccinations sites.
No pre-booked appointments are required in order to use the pop-up service and both first and second doses are being offered.
The scheme is part of a fresh drive to encourage more people of all ages and ethnicities to get the coronavirus vaccine.

It is also designed to make the process more accessible and flexible for those who lead busier and more hectic lives.
But unfortunately some of the walk-in sites have been targeted by ‘anti-vaxxers’.
On Saturday, volunteers and people getting the vaccine at the CCG’s vaccination bus in Stanway are said to have been verbally abused and intimidated.
Pictures shared by the CCG showed dozens of people queuing to get their vaccine.
Great to see brisk business at our Pfizer walk-in bus clinic outside Sainsbury's in #Stanway #Colchester today. If you're after your second dose please be aware you'll only be jabbed I'd your first was at least eight weeks ago 💉💉 pic.twitter.com/yOJ9apQALj

Lisa Nobes, director of nursing and clinical quality for the North East Essex CCG, said: “If you make a decision not to have a vaccine that is your decision but let the professionals get on it and let the people who want the vaccine have it in an environment without fear.
“People are scared enough. Don’t make it miserable for them.”
