A NEW cafe has opened inside a busy community centre in Greenstead.
Kelly's Kafe opened inside Greenstead Community Centre, in Hawthorn Avenue, on Saturday.
The previous cafe inside the premises had closed due to the pressures of lockdown and the pandemic so Greenstead Community Association (GCA), which runs the centre, appealed for interested parties to come forward.
Kelly West, who lives in the area, came forward with a proposal and after positive discussions with GCA opened the new cafe for the first time at the weekend.
Ms West said: "I’m delighted to open a cafe for my own community. I’m really excited at the opportunity.
"We’ve got some great staff serving delicious breakfasts, lunches, snacks and drinks at great value.
"I invite everybody to pop in and see us.”

Ward councillor Tim Young (Lab, Greenstead) is also chair of Greenstead Community Association.
He said: "It’s great that Kelly’s Kafe has opened at the Community Centre.
"The food and service is great and we hope it will be a real success.”
