A SPECTACULAR show of music and dance, featuring performers in giant spheres and domes, is coming to Castle Park this summer.
Fresh from performances at the likes of Latitude and Henley Festival, Music of the Spheres is making its Essex debut at the town centre attraction next month.
Staged by Colchester Events in association with Eye Music the event is supported by Arts Council England.
Visitors will enjoy performances of contemporary dance and music created by Eye Music, a charitable trust founded by composers Lawrence Casserley and Simon Desorgher.
The 90-minute show starts with dancers and musicians inside transparent spheres and domes moving around the audience.
Musicians perform on a range of instruments whilst a giant sphere, the height of a four-storey building, will be launched on to the park’s boating lake.
Inside aerial dancer Claire Crook will spiral suspended from the centre whilst the sphere moves across the lake.
For the grand finale guests will be entertained by giant spheres and domes set to new music composed by Mr Desorgher on the flute.

“Our highest priority is to provide safe events that enable social distancing and this event allows us to do that.
“Attracting visitors to the town to enjoy themselves at well-managed events will be a welcome boost not only to local businesses but also to the well-being of so many residents and visitors to Colchester.”
There will be three performances on Saturday July 24, at 12.30pm, 3pm and 5.30pm.
Tickets cost £5.30 per person or £20 for a group of four. Children under 12 and over 65s cost £3.
