A GUIDED walking tour leading rambles through 2,000 years of history from the time of the Romans to present day is returning.
Visit Colchester will be resuming their popular tours of the town, which are aimed at both residents and visitors to the borough.
The 'Camulodunum to Colchester' guided tour takes in the town's long and rich history, which dates back over 2,000 years, in the company of an Institute of Tourist Guiding qualified guide.
All tours hosted by Visit Colchester are taken by a qualified blue or green badge holder, which is the national standard guiding qualification universally recognised around the world as a mark of excellence.
Darius Laws, portfolio holder for economy, business and heritage at Colchester Council, said: “A walking tour is an outstanding way to discover a unique and personal perspective of the historic old town of Colchester.
"You can explore the local streetscape, heritage, and culture of Colchester, whilst at the same time benefitting from in-depth knowledge from a local guide.
"It is also a great eco-friendly way to discover all that Colchester has to offer. Book your tour today and discover more about Britain’s Oldest Recorded Town and First Roman City."
The Camulodunum to Colchester Tour leaves from the Visitor Information Centre, in Hollytrees Museum, situated in Castle Park.
Tours run every Saturday at 11am, from July 3 to September 25.
