POLICE deployed metal detector arches in Colchester town centre in a bid to disrupt criminal activity.
Officers from the Colchester Community Policing Team were deployed in the town centre at various locations, including Red Lion Yard, on Thursday.
Using their special training as Project Servator officers, members of the team deployed metal detector arches.
A spokesman for Essex Police Colchester said: "Using the special training they received as Project Servator officers and the metal detector arch the officers were able to identify those who had something to hide and went out of their way to avoid speaking to the officers.
"As a result one male was arrested for failing to appear at court, one male interviewed for possession of drugs and one illegal e-scooter was seized.
"Project Servator aims to DETER, DETECT and DISRUPT a range of criminal activity including terrorism and knife crime, while providing reassurance for the public."
