COLCHESTER Zoo is now back open again to the public after almost 18 months of enforced closures due to Covid restrictions.
Residents have flocked back to the attraction to show it some desperately needed support.
We all love visiting the zoo, but imagine if you worked there?
It must be one of the most exciting places to work in north Essex and we're sure no two days are the same.
There are often opportunities at the Maldon Road attraction, particularly now it is now back open to the public.
The zoo employs about 350 people in dozens of different roles.

The jobs available aren't just for those with animal-related qualifications either.
In fact, the zoo is often in need of tradespeople as well retail assistants and the like.
At the moment the zoo is advertising for four different roles:
- Cleaner (Full Time)
- Soft Landscape Gardener (Full Time)
- Electrician (Full Time)
- Conservation Educator (Full Time)
The zoo posted its latest jobs list on Facebook and said: "Interested in becoming part of the Colchester Zoo Team?
"We have several roles still available, including the chance to join our gardening and maintenance teams.
"PLUS, you can apply to become a Conservation Educator within our hardworking Education Team."
Application for all four roles are open until Wednesday, July 14.
