As rules relax further next week and more nightlife venues are able to reopen we've had a look at the best on offer in and around Colchester.
All remaining legal restrictions will be lifted in England from July 19.
All legal limits on the numbers meeting indoors and outdoors will be scrapped and all businesses will reopen, including nightclubs – for the first time since March 2020.

- Victoria Inn
The Victoria Inn pub topped the bill on the list on TripAdvisor.
One reviewer said: "Before Covid I always used to go here with my old work colleagues. A lovely beer garden, and a brilliant selection of Ales. Friendly staff as well!"
- The Fox Inn, Mersea
The bar and restaurant also featured highly on the list.
Reviews include: "Fantastic venue , wonderful food and lovely service. A popular pub so would advise booking although this is not essential."
- The New Inn
The town centre pub recieved high praise from customers.
One review said: "We were welcomed into a fantastic vibe, welcomed by the landlady who is a really genuinely lovely person.. Served some of the best conditioned real ale I've ever tried."
- The Silk Road Lounge & Cocktail bar
The venue which has three bars and two dancefloors was described as an "amazing venue."
One reviewer said: "My absolute FAVOURITE venue in town ! With friendliest staff , greatest cocktails 🍸 amazing food menu , great door staff and DJ .Buzzing atmosphere."
- The Foresters Arms
The pub near Castle Park is a hit with reviewers.
One said: "Visited last weekend for a few drinks and some lunch. We sat outside and had such a good time !! The staff were really friendly, drinks were cold and refreshing and the food was perfect."
