A COLCHESTER nightclub is hosting a special event to mark the first time it can reopen its dance floors in 16 months.
Atik, in Colchester High Street, has organised #StraightOuttaLockdown to mark what some are calling "Freedom Day" on Monday.
It is the first time the dance floors at the premises have been able to open since March 2020 when the first lockdown started.
The club is promising a night to remember, with the premises being fully decorated with confetti, laser and light shows and all of the three rooms open.
The event description on the Atik website states: "Join us for what is going to be a night to remember.
"After so long with a silent dancefloor we have so much making up to do, kicking things off with a #StraightOuttaLockdown party this one will be a night not to miss and one we're sure your boss will give you Tuesday off for.
"Expect a night with full club decor along with tonnes of confetti, brand new laser and light shows along with all 3 rooms open."
The three rooms at the club, which will also be open are - Atik, Curve and Vinyl.
In Atik, DJ Jamie G will be playing the latest in commercial chart and dance tunes.
The newly refurbished Curve will be playing the best in new and classic RnB.
Whilst Vinyl will provide old school party classics for revellers to enjoy.

Atik has opened during some of the pandemic as a "nightpub" but with the dance floors closed.
"Freedom Day" is what Monday is being dubbed as it is when all restrictions are being relaxed.
This allows all businesses to reopen, including nightclubs, and will see theatre shows and the like get up and running again.
The legals for social distancing and to wear masks is also being dropped.
The Government has urged caution from the public but has come under criticism for relaxing the rules whilst cases are skyrocketing in many parts of England.
Yates Colchester is also hosting a midnight dance event on Sunday/Monday in Colchester to mark "Freedom Day".
