COLCHESTER United suffered defeat in their behind-closed-doors friendlies at Watford's training ground today.
The U's played two 60-minute friendlies against the Premier League new boys, losing the first one 2-1 and the second 2-0.
Alan Judge scored Colchester's goal in their opening friendly.
A penalty from Ismaila Sarr and another strike from new signing Dapo Mebude won it for the Hornets.
Colchester fielded two trialists again in that match, following on from Richard Kone and Bayli Spencer-Adams' appearance against Billericay Town in midweek.
The likes of Tom Eastman, Luke Hannant, Brendan Wiredu and Freddie Sears also featured in that match.

Colchester fielded an entirely different side in the second 60-match match, where they fell to a 2-0 defeat.
Goals from Cucho Hernández and former Everton man Dan Gosling won it for Watford.
New signings Cole Skuse, Luke Chambers and Cameron Cox featured for the U's, along with newly-appointed captain, Tommy Smith.
Youngsters Harry Beadle and Donell Thomas also played in the match, for the U's.

Colchester's next pre-season friendly is against another Premier League side, Tottenham Hotspur, next Wednesday night.
The game is at the JobServe Community Stadium and kicks off at 7.45pm.
