COLCHESTER'S week on week Covid rate has fallen for the first time in months, with cases across the UK slowing down.
During the week to July 22, Colchester's average infection rate was 429.9 cases per 100,000 people.
There were 837 cases of coronavirus confirmed during this week.
In the week to July 15, the borough's average infection rate was 460.2 cases per 100,000 people, with 896 cases confirmed.
Tendring's average infection rate is now 444.2 cases per 100,000 people, up from 431.9 cases per 100,000 people a week earlier.
Figures show, more areas in England saw a week-on-week drop in their Covid rate than a rise.
Out of the 315 local areas in England, 43 per cent per cent saw rise in rates with 56 per cent seeing a drop. The rest were unchanged.
A map compiled using Government data shows the number of Covid cases in each part of Colchester. The data is from the week to July 21.
Mile End and Braiswick saw the highest number of cases, 83.
West Bergholt and Wormingford saw the least during this week, recording only eight.

Experts believe Covid rates in England could be falling at the moment due to the schools breaking up for summer holidays.
