An incident on Elmstead Road caused significant disruption this morning as a collision between a car and a bus saw a woman taken to hospital.
Following the incident at 10:20am, the road was then shut shortly later, at 10:45am, whilst police attended the scene.
The injuries sustained by the woman driving the car are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing, and the road was reopened shortly after the incident.
A full police statement following the collision read: “We were called to reports of a collision between a bus and a car in Elmstead Road, Colchester, at 10.20am this morning, Tuesday 27 July.
“We arrived and put a road closure in place by 10.45am.
“A woman, the driver of the car, was taken to hospital with injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing.
“The road was re-opened a short time later.
“No arrests have been made.”
