COLCHESTER'S Fenwick store will remain closed on Thursday after an incident which left a five-year-old boy seriously injured.
A boy, five, suffered a "serious head injury" at the store on Tuesday morning.
It is understood a mirror inside the store fell on the youngster.
After arriving at the store at about 11.30am on Tuesday, alongside store staff and medics, Essex Police officers immediately administered first aid to the boy.
He was taken to hospital in a critical condition, which is where he remains.
It is understood he was airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.
Fenwick, in Colchester High Street, has been closed since the incident and bosses have confirmed the store will remain closed on Thursday.
