POLICE have cordoned off part of Colchester town centre to protect the public with part of a building's roof falling off.
Essex Police have blocked off the area and closed Head Street to traffic this morning.
Witnesses said part of the roof of a building is collapsing.
The roof in question is part of or located near the town's Odeon cinema.

Essex Fire Service are also at the scene.
The emergency services have been contacted for comment.
Bus services are being diverted at the moment.
Colchester Head Street closed at present due to an obstruction. We will serve High Street diverting via Middlesbrough.
